Background
In line with the HKSAR Government’s strategic direction of establishing a third medical school in Hong Kong and developing the city into an international health and medical innovation hub, HKUST is committed to contributing to this exciting initiative by leveraging its strengths in biomedical sciences, advanced technologies, research, and technology transfer. Preparatory work has begun to explore the most suitable approach for establishing a new medical school that will support Hong Kong’s future medical education and healthcare advancements. This initiative aims to nurture future-ready doctors who are clinically competent and technology-savvy to meet the evolving demands of healthcare, thereby fostering the city’s growth in medical training, research and innovation.

Applicants should possess a specialist registration with the Medical Council of Hong Kong (or be eligible to apply to the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine for the Certification of Specialist Registration). They should have achieved national/ regional recognition for professional expertise, in addition to a good and sustained record of success in clinical services, teaching and learning, knowledge exchange and services, and/ or clinical research.
- Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Research Assistant Professor (several posts)
Applicants are required to hold a PhD degree in a medical-related discipline (e.g. anatomy, pharmacology, biochemistry, etc.). They should have strong background and research experience in the biomedical sector. They should also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, exceptional academic leadership, and evidence of international recognition.
Salary and Benefits
Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract, renewable subject to performance, funding availability and mutual agreement. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental coverage will be provided.
